What to Expect with Kybella®
Kybella® often requires multiple treatment sessions spaced over a few months. Results are not immediate, but they can last a lifetime. Here’s what to expect with your Kybella® treatment:
Day of Kybella® Treatment
In your initial treatment, you will go in for a 15-to-20-minute appointment. After applying a topical numbing cream for your comfort, one of our trained specialists will inject Kybella® into the targeted area. You may feel a slight burning sensation as the deoxycholic acid works.
Kybella® requires no downtime; however, a common side effect of Kybella® is swelling as the deoxycholic acid begins working under the skin. The skin may become inflammatory, causing mild discomfort. This is completely normal and safe. Anecdotal reports say swelling peaks a couple of days after the appointment and subside within a month.
Multiple Treatments for Kybella®
Your initial results should surface after two weeks as the swelling subsides. For optimal results, however, multiple treatments are often needed. The maximum number of treatments for Kybella® is six; however, most people only need two to four treatments.
These appointments should be spaced at least one month apart. Please discuss with our experts about how many treatments you’ll need to get rid of your double chin during your consultation.
