What Is Dermaplaning?
A dermaplane treatment is a non-invasive procedure that uses a 10-gauge surgical scalpel to gently exfoliate and remove the top layer of the facial skin. Dermaplaning is a safe and highly effective method for removing peach fuzz and minimizing the look of fine lines, wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, and other complexion woes revealing soft, smooth skin. Many patients who undergo dermaplaning treatments remark on how they just can’t stop touching their baby-smooth skin after the procedure!

How Does It Work?
A dermaplane treatment is very straightforward; it usually takes about 40-60 minutes to perform. Before your procedure, your Derma Tech specialist will ensure that your skin is clean and free from any makeup. Your specialist will then hold the 10-gauge scalpel at a 45-degree angle and use it to scrape away dead skin cells; these brushstrokes are very light and quick, and surprisingly painless. After your procedure is done, your Derma Tech specialist will apply some serums to help your skin prolong its newfound glow.
Is It Painful?
At first glance, you might think having a surgical scalpel used to remove dead skin cells would be painful. But the procedure is surprisingly painless, especially when performed by a Derma Tech expert. Most patients compare it to feeling a gentle scraping across their skin. You’ll likely have some temporary redness and skin sensitivity after the procedure, but you won’t need any downtime or recovery.
