How Does Silhouette InstaLift® Work?
Using a technique called Micro-Suspension Technology™, Silhouette InstaLift® places small threads under the skin of the face. These catch onto the layers of skin and help lift them up, improving the appearance of sagging features, lines and wrinkles, and loose skin around the jawline and other areas.
The procedure uses threads made of poly-glycolic acid (PGA) and poly-L-lactic acid (PLA), materials regularly used for sutures and other uses in medical surgeries. Before dissolving, these threads will remain safely in the skin for four to six months. However, results last much longer than this due to the production of collagen.
How Long Does Silhouette InstaLift® Last?
The PGA and PLA threads used in a Silhouette InstaLift® will last under the skin for four to six months. However, during this time, the threads promote the development of collagen around them. This collagen follows the lifted and firmer structure of the face, maintaining your results for up to eighteen months or even longer. We recommend that you return about every eighteen months for a maintenance treatment if you like your results and want to keep them.
What Results Will I See With Silhouette InstaLift®?
You will see immediate results with lifted, tighter-looking skin. Sagging facial features look restored, and drooping areas around the jaw can become tighter and more sculpted. Fine lines and wrinkles smooth out as the skin is lifted.
What is Recovery From Silhouette InstaLift® Like?
You may see some bruising and mild swelling that will fade after a few days. You can resume your normal activities, with the exception of vigorous exercise, which should be avoided for the first 48-72 hours following your procedure. Soreness usually lasts no more than 48 hours, and most people have no trouble managing it.
Who is a Good Candidate for Silhouette InstaLift®?
Ideal candidates for Silhouette InstaLift® have mild sagging skin and other signs of aging, and they would like to see their facial features firmer and more lifted. People with more significant signs of aging can discuss their options with their surgeon.
