How Does PRP for Hair Loss Work?
PRP for hair loss works in two stages. The first stage involves collecting a few teaspoons of the patient’s blood, which are then placed in a special centrifuge for cleansing and platelet separation. Once the platelets are cleansed, they’re ready to be injected back into the scalp.
This is where the second stage comes in. The platelets are injected straight into areas where hair loss and hair thinning are most obvious, including around the hairline and the back of the crown.
Once injected into the scalp, the platelets get to work encouraging sluggish hair follicles to grow back. Over the course of several weeks and with a vigorous PRP regimen, candidates should see hair regrowth in areas where they had previously noticed thinning.
Am I A Good Candidate For PRP for Hair Loss?
You’re a good candidate for PRP hair restoration treatments if you’ve noticed hair thinning around your hairline. PRP for hair loss may not be a good solution if you already have extensive balding.

How Long Does A Typical Treatment Take?
A typical PRP for hair loss treatment takes about an hour to perform. This time estimate typically includes the process of collecting blood and cleansing the platelets.
What Results Will I See?*
Results – which are typically visible after three to four PRP treatments – typically include new hair regrowth and thicker hair in areas where hair thinning was more prominent.

Is There Any Downtime?
There’s minimal downtime associated with PRP for hair loss treatments; however, your scalp may feel more tender and sore for a few days after your procedure. You may see some mild swelling at the injection site as well.
We do recommend that patients avoid swimming, bathing, or showering for 24 hours after their PRP for hair loss treatment.
