Still interested in getting Botox – but not so interested in the pain that often comes with needle injections?
No worries, we’re here to show you that Botox doesn’t always have to hurt. Take a look at what you can expect from your Botox injection experience, as well as a few tips to make yourself more comfortable during your treatment:
1. Botox injections won’t hurt.
Botox injections aren’t designed to hurt, so you won’t need to worry about excessive pain. However, it is important to note that patients who don’t like needles may feel uneasiness or uncomfortable while receiving injections.
2. The area can be treated before injections.
Your Derma Tech expert can treat the targeted area with ice and/or numbing cream prior to administering injections. If you feel nervous or have reservations, never hesitate to let a Derma Tech staff member know. It’s important that you feel relaxed and comfortable when it comes time to receive your Botox treatment.
3. Expect some mild side effects.
Most patients experience only mild side effects with their treatment, which may include tenderness, slight swelling, and redness at the injection site. These side effects usually fade within minutes or hours and generally cover easily with a little makeup. Although not typical, some patients may experience these side effects for a day or two and may notice bruising at one or more of the injection sites.
4. Follow your aftercare instructions.
While Botox is a relatively easy treatment to undergo, some aftercare instructions should be followed. For example, it’s recommended that you avoid working out or getting excessively hot during the first 24 hours after treatment as this can cause the neurotoxin to spread to other areas.
